2026 Community Art Contest

Show Us Your Shelburne

An original piece of art that captures the spirit of a Shelburne summer at the Market.

Shelburne Farmers Market

About the contest

Every summer, the Shelburne Farmers Market brings the whole town together on the Parade Grounds. This year, we're inviting the community to help create something lasting: an original piece of art that captures the spirit of Shelburne and a season at the Market. Anyone can enter. Two winners will be chosen — and the Market Winner's artwork will be revealed on Shelburne Day and featured on this year's Market merchandise. This is the inaugural year of what will be an annual community art contest, celebrating each new season at the Market.

Enter your artwork

Upload by Wed, July 29, 11:59 pm. One entry per artist. Fields marked * are required.

We'll send your confirmation here and use it to reach you if you win.

Shelburne residents are especially encouraged — but this is never a disqualifier, and everyone is welcome to enter.

PNG, JPG, or PDF, up to 10 MB. Upload the highest resolution you have — if you win, we print from this file.

Tell us a little about your piece — what it shows, what inspired it. A sentence or two is plenty.

Who can enter

Everyone is welcome — neighbors of every age, longtime residents and newcomers alike. We especially encourage Shelburne residents and the many artists and makers who are part of our community. Young artists are welcome too; entrants under 18 just need a parent or guardian's permission.

What to create

Create an original piece of art that celebrates what makes Shelburne special — our farms and makers, the landscape, the community, the feel of a Saturday at the Market. Work in any medium you like: paint, drawing, photography, digital art, or collage. Two simple rules: the work must be your own, and it should be welcoming to all members of our diverse community.

How the two winners are chosen

The selection committee — SFM's Stewards and Champions — reviews every entry and confirms it meets the contest guidelines before the voting round opens.

Market Winner: The Market's vendors — the farmers, makers, and artists who bring the Market to life — each cast a single vote, and the artist with the most votes wins the Market category.

People's Choice Winner: Everyone is also invited to cast a People's Choice vote — one vote per person — and the artist with the most public votes wins the People's Choice category.

Prizes

The Market Winner's artwork will be revealed on Shelburne Day and featured on this year's Market merchandise, along with a prize* from the Market.

The People's Choice Winner will be featured on the SFM website, along with a prize* from the Market.
