Flor de Manta
“My colorful display adds to the general festive atmosphere of the markets and many visitors have expressed appreciation even if not always purchasing.”— Ariane van Wageningen, Flor de Manta
What You’ll Find at Our Booth
Hand block-printed table runners, napkins, and tea towels.
All original designs, printed and sewn by hand. Ariane’s practice fuses her training in printmaking with traditional Mexican manta, a 100% cotton cloth used for textiles since pre-Hispanic times.
About
Ariane van Wageningen trained as a printmaker and sculptor in Breda, Netherlands, and worked as a boatbuilder and cabinet maker before moving to Vermont in 2015. She developed Flor de Manta — hand-printed kitchen and table linens — from her studio in Middlebury. First season at the Shelburne Farmers Market.
