Madcap Mushrooms

Agricultural Season
“Madcap means amusingly eccentric which is exactly what mushrooms are, and we bring this same energy to the market! We have an enthusiasm for our product that gets people excited about eating mushrooms.”

About

Blake and Lindsey Goldberg have been growing gourmet mushrooms since 2021, when the whole operation lived inside a 400-square-foot tiny home. It didn't stay that size for long — as Blake puts it, the house belonged to the mushrooms and they were just paying the rent. After he retired from the Air Force in 2022 the couple settled in Vermont, and Madcap Mushrooms LLC followed in January 2024. They now grow at Micro Myco Farm in North Ferrisburgh, and run a twelve-week winter CSA and hands-on growing workshops alongside the market booth.
