About
Michele Palmer and family carry over 50 years of maple heritage on Shelburne Hinesburg Road. The operation traces to Marjorie Palmer, who began making syrup during World War II when cane sugar was rationed; it moved to its current site in 1972. During Sugartime each March and April, the sugarhouse opens for maple demonstrations, sugar on snow, and free samples. One of the vendors at the first Shelburne Farmers Market — 20 seasons and counting.
